Original early production Model 60 stool.
Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1934, made in Finland Ltd, distributed in the UK by Finmar. Now very hard to find.
Stamped 'Made in Finland' to the underside, the nails where the Finmar label was attached are present, the label likely removed by the retailer (as was often the case).
Solid bent birch legs, sawn to create the bend. Black (later painted) seat with edge trim and finger joins, only found on the early versions.
Great condition - Lovely depth of colour to the wood only achievable after almost 100 years of use. Signs of age and use as pictured.
